How to use the rest of memory when you have a XP OS with 4GB RAM?

  1. Before setting up the OS, the RAM you can use in your system is 3.5 GB.
  2. Download Gavotte Ramdisk 1.0.4096.5
  3. Import ram4g.reg
  4. Fix boot.ini and reboot.
    multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Professional" /fastdetect /NoExecute=OptIn /PAE
  5. Install Ramdisk GUI
  6. Format ramdisk into NTFS in command mode:
    FORMAT /FS:NTFS /Q /V:RamDisk /A:512 X:
    CHKDSK /L:2048 X:
    MKDIR X:\TEMP
    rdutil X: registry
  7. Setup the temp directories of IE or Opera.
  8. Use "FreeFileSync" and built a sync folder anywhere you want.]
  9. Create a batch job by FreeFileSync and use "gpedit.msc" to run the job during booting and shutting down the system.
  10. Now you can use the rest of memory and sync the files automatically.
