Due to the lack of the Broadcom Ethernet driver (BCM5754 ), I could not access the Internet after installing the OSX86 (iATKOS v7) on the Dell Precision T3400 workstation. However, the tricks of tweaking the kext driver on the forum were still too complicated for me. I found another quick way to build the connection through the firewire (IEEE 1394). It seems like there is no need to install a driver to enable the firewire in OSX86.
- Prepare the 1st PC with Windows XP, and a firewire port.
- Prepare the 2ed PC with OSX86 and a firewire port, either.
- Make sure the 1st PC with Windows XP has Internet accessibility. In my case, I used the Ethernet port with DHCP mode.
- Connect two PCs through a firewire.
- Enable the ICS (Internet Connection Sharing) wizard and follow the instruction in the 1st PC to share the default Internet connection to firewire (1394 connection). Make sure to select the first item, i.e. "This computer connects directly to the Internet. The other computers on my network connect to the Internet through this computer."
- Enable the DHCP mode in the firewire setting in the 2ed PC with OSX86.
- Done!
